AI Data Extraction is the process by which artificial intelligence analyzes a file, understands its content, extracts the required information, and converts it into structured data that Globe can use, bringing Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) directly into your document management system.
This technology goes beyond simple OCR-based document reading, offering far greater flexibility in the types of files that can be processed, including vector PDFs, scanned documents, images (captured directly with the Globe App), Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, emails, XML files, and text files.
Once the data has been extracted, it is immediately ready to use. Globe can automatically archive documents, trigger workflows and feed your business systems using the extracted information.
What types of files and documents can Globe use AI to extract information from?
Beyond data extraction: an intelligent workflow that captures, processes, validates, and acts
Documents are automatically captured by Globe, with no user intervention required. As soon as a document becomes available, the extraction process starts automatically.
Documents can be captured by Globe from multiple sources:
- Email inboxes. Globe monitors dedicated email inboxes and automatically captures incoming documents, triggering the extraction process without human intervention.
- Network folders. Documents placed in shared network folders are automatically detected by Globe and routed to the extraction process.
- Scanned documents. Paper documents are captured directly by the system and processed by the AI engine, even when they contain handwritten text.
- Manual upload. Documents can be uploaded manually through the Globe client or web portal, while still benefiting from the automatic extraction process.
- Globe App. Using the Globe app, users can capture paper documents directly with their smartphone.
- Business applications. Globe can also capture documents from other business applications through connectors or other integration methods.
Once the file has been captured, Globe initiates the AI Data Extraction process.
The artificial intelligence engine analyzes the document, understands its content, and extracts the required information as structured data.
Regardless of the file format, layout, or language, the AI accurately and reliably identifies and extracts the relevant information.

If a file contains multiple documents – for example, a PDF containing an invoice and an attachment, or a batch of documents captured together – Globe automatically identifies, separates, and processes each document individually.
The most appropriate extraction logic is automatically applied to each document, and the extracted data then continues through the validation and processing workflow.
The extracted data is automatically validated and can be cross-checked against information already available in your ERP, including supplier master data, purchase order references, item codes, prices, and more.
If discrepancies, exceptions, or file quality issues are detected, Globe initiates a guided validation process, clearly indicating what needs to be verified and why.
This allows you to automate as much of the process as possible while maintaining full control and ensuring data accuracy.
Once validated, the extracted data is used to populate the document metadata.
Globe automatically classifies and archives each document in the appropriate category, assigning the correct indexing metadata. This eliminates manual indexing entirely and ensures that every document is easy to find, retrieve, and manage.
As a result, your document repository becomes more organized, consistent, and easier to maintain.
